Evergreens

This is a great opportunity for the over-60s of Siddington and Preston to make friends in the relaxed, pleasant, warm and comfortable surroundings of the Elizabeth Way Community Room. The club meets every second Tuesday of the month at 2.30pm, with a different speaker providing entertainment with a talk, demonstration or slide show. A wide range of topics has been covered over the years, from nature talks to reminiscences about a childhood in a Barnardos Home, from Caribbean Islands to storytelling, and from treasures in the attic to Life Boats. Members are also kept informed about any advances that may improve their lifestyle.

There is always an 'everyone's a winner' raffle. Nobody goes home without a prize. Refreshments of tea and coffee with biscuits or cake are always provided. There is an annual Christmas party with entertainment and festive treats, as well as a coach trip. There is a modest yearly subscription to cover refreshments, birthday posies and cards. The club also offers free transport to residents in Siddington and Preston who are unable to get to meetings.

Siddington Art Group returns after Easter, very other Monday, 10am-12 noon with The Big Painting Challenge.

Siddington art group would love to welcome you if you are looking for something creative to do while waiting out the rain and the chill winds of Spring.

The group is open to anyone of any age; all can enjoy and take part. We are a friendly group who welcome beginners as well as all others and by no means claim to be experts. We tackle the drawing and painting of many different subjects and find time to chat and enjoy a cup of coffee.

No prior experience is needed and Fiona our tutor is especially welcoming to nervous beginners. We meet every fortnight on a Monday morning between 10.00-12.00. The group will start again after Easter. Materials are supplied until you settle in and decide which media you enjoy best. All six sessions for just £25.00.

If you are enjoying ‘The Big Painting challenge’ on TV, challenge yourself and learn something new this year.
