Your refuse collection

Recycling and composting by Cotswold District Council residents saves almost £1.7 million on landfill tax costs every year.

Generally refuse is collected in the village on Wednesdays, throughout the day. Collection times may vary, so please ensure that all containers are presented at kerbside by 7am (unless you receive assisted collection):

  • a small green bin for food waste
  • a blue bag for cardboard
  • a white bag for plastic
  • a black box for paper, glass, cans and tins
  • a green wheeled bin for garden waste at an annual fee of £30 (or £15 if you are on Council Tax benefit or housing benefit)
  • a black wheeled bin for everything else

Everything is taken away every fortnight, but the small green food waste bins and the green wheeled bins are taken every week.

Please go to Cotswold District Council website to find out more or call the Waste Hotline on 01285 623123 (Cotswold District Council, Trinity Road, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 1PX).

You can also take waste free of charge for recycling or disposal at any of the household recycling centres in the county. Our closest site is at Fosse Cross, which is open from 9am to 6.15pm all year round. If you have a large amount of waste call 0845 602 9344 to make an appointment.
